Marian Petre ‘picks the brains of experts’ to find out what makes expert software designers expert, how people reason and communicate about design and problem solving, and how they use representations in their reasoning.  She is a Professor of Computing at The Open University in the UK; she holds degrees in Psycholinguistics and Computer Science.
